Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a search tool is sent to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and returns its results. We do not independently retain or log the terms entered into those searches.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When an email or other direct message is sent to us, we retain it to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, our systems may receive technical information about the visit, including:
- The IP address associated with the device
- The browser and its version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is available
- The time of each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device that help us understand aggregate site use, such as which pages receive visits and where visitors leave. Analytics providers assist with that aggregated traffic analysis. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may affect how parts of the site function.
What We Do With This Data
We may use the technical and service information described above for these operational purposes:
- Operating the site and supporting reliable page loading
- Passing search requests to the applicable partner service
- Assessing page use and site performance
- Finding and addressing technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may be based on interests
No Court-Record Data on File
This site does not host, keep, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It provides general guidance about records held by the Cedar County Circuit Clerk, the 28th Judicial Circuit, Circuit Court of Cedar County, and Missouri Case.net. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or files about third parties.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes on this site. Information submitted through a tool is governed by that provider's privacy policy, retention practices, and sharing rules rather than this policy. Review the provider's terms before sending a query; we do not control those practices.
Links to Other Websites
This site links to clerk pages, court portals, Missouri Case.net, legal-aid resources, and third-party search tools. Following one of those links leaves this site, and the destination's privacy policy applies to that visit. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising partners may use their own systems to track activity across websites for interest-based advertising. That tracking is not operated by us.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Information may be disclosed to:
- Search partners that process a query submitted through the site
- Analytics providers used to measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that serve ads on the site
- Law enforcement or government agencies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard safeguards for the information we collect. No internet-connected service can promise complete security, so we cannot guarantee that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor has provided personal information, we will remove it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide rights concerning information we retain. Missouri Sunshine Law, RSMo 610.023, addresses requests for records held by public governmental bodies; it does not make this private reference site a public-records custodian. A request for a Cedar County court file is subject instead to court-specific access rules, including restrictions for confidential, sealed, expunged, juvenile, or otherwise protected material. You may submit a request to:
- Ask whether we retain direct correspondence about you
- Ask us to correct personal information we retain, where applicable
- Request a copy of retained correspondence where applicable
- Ask for deletion of information we hold about you where applicable
- Object to a particular type of data processing where applicable
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this privacy policy. A revised version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
Effective date: August 28, 2026
